It's October!

Yikes! This is the month we've been waiting for. Departure from Four Corners Marina is Friday the 23rd, with transport to Cuba Landing on the Tennessee River. We chose this instead of over 280 river miles (and the gas involved!) if we had put in at Old Hickory Lake here in Nashville on the Cumberland. That would have been a beautiful section of river and foliage, but we'll get it next year when we return.
Our preparation continues with the completion of the mechanical tuneup, the installation of the chartplotter, and the arrival of the new dinghy. We're making decisions about more stuff to stay in storage, and with the recent low TN temps, we're pulling out the sweats and reconsidering the number of blankets we'll take.
We've made arrangements to pick up any USPO mail in mid-December at my aunt's in Ft. Myers. Check with us if you want that address. After that, we'll make some other arrangement in about 3 months. But we'll have cell phone and email access almost all the time.
We continue to find great interest in our trip among many, (my doctor has offered to come along as our personal physician!) and others who can't imagine a year away and on a boat together.
We're glad you want to share the trip with us...
With great anticipation...
